World Book Day- Our Favourite Books
On Thursday 2nd of March we celebrated World Book Day.
Every day we read for homework. We read books for five minutes.
The First and Second Class read Comprehension Sheets every day.
Ms Finnerty likes to read novels to us. This year we have read Fantastic Mr Fox, How to Train a Dragon and The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark.
We talk about books in Building Bridges.
When we have finished our work Ms Finnerty lets us read a book from our class library.
Have a look at our favourite books.

Pancake Tuesday
On Tuesday Ms Finnerty brought in pancakes.
She gave us a pancake each.
We could put Nutella or lemon juice on them.
They were delicious.
We really enjoyed them.
Pancake Tuesday is also known as Shrove Tuesday.
It happens the last day before Lent begins.
The day after Pancake Tuesday is Ash Wednesday. It is the beginning of Lent. We give up rich foods during Lent.
Brazil celebrate Pancake Tuesday. They call it Mardi Gras. They have a big festival.
